Best Corn Mazes In Vermont
1. The Great Vermont Corn Maze – Danville
The largest and most complex corn maze in Vermont goes to the perfectly named Great Vermont Corn Maze. It also just so happens to be the largest in all of New England, so if you only do one this year, let it be this one!
Stretching over 24 acres, this maze is actually referred to as a hike, and can take up to three hours to complete, so this is one you want to plan lots of time for, and enjoy the challenge along the way.
For those who aren’t so sure they’re ready for the big maze, there’s also a smaller “scenic maze” you can choose instead, which takes less than 1 hour to do (hint: it’s part of the big maze 😉).
The Great Vermont Corn Maze Quick Guide:
- Typically opens at the very end of July each year, and runs through mid-October. They do a great job updating opening and closing dates on their Facebook page.
- Admission gets you into both the big maze and shorter scenic maze.
- Light snacks and drinks available to purchase at the maze, but they encourage you to enjoy their grounds by bringing your own picnics.
- Tickets can be purchased both at the door, and in advance on their website. Online ticket purchases are preferred and encouraged.
- Cash and cards accepted at the door.
- It can take up to 3 hours to find your way out of the big maze.
- Children’s activities are available at the maze.
2. Percy Farm Corn Maze – Stowe
Stowe is one of the best fall towns in New England to visit for both foliage and overall charm, and it also just so happens to be home to one of the best corn mazes at Percy Farm.
The Percy Farm Corn Maze is a wonderfully relaxed and scenic adventure through Stowe’s countryside, and is unique in that the best way to get there is via the Recreation Path. If you’re not familiar with Stowe, the Recreation Path is a wonderful paved walking path that weaves throughout town.
But, let’s talk about the maze itself! Once you arrive, you can pay for your ticket and head on in. Before you start the maze, though, the friendly folks working will ask for your phone number in case you don’t find your way out, and they also provide you with their phone number. This maze is a bit more challenging, but super fun!
The best way to get the the farm’s corn maze is to park at Thompson Park, and walk the Recreation Path to the farm that way. This is a few miles outside the village, so you can either take a long walk there, or drive.

What Is The Most Difficult Corn Maze In Vermont?
The Great Vermont Corn Maze is also the most difficult, simply because of its size, and how long it takes to find your way out. However, as mentioned, there’s a smaller version you can do there if you’re intimidated by the main maze.
The Percy Farm Corn Maze in Stowe is also pretty challenging.

Tips For Visiting Corn Mazes In The Fall
Bring a water bottle and sunscreen for the bigger mazes. A lot of the mazes are in direct sunlight, and they could take an hour or longer to make your way through. While fall weather is usually chilly in Vermont, you could happen upon a warm, sunny day, too, so you need to stay hydrated, and protect your skin.
Wear comfortable shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty. This isn’t the best time for heeled booties, as the terrain can be uneven. And since you’re on a farm, you’ll want something that can get dirty. If it rained the night before, you may want to also wear waterproof shoes in case of puddles and mud.
Grab the map at the start of the maze (if one’s available)! I know it’s tempting to jump in without any information, but it can be harder than it seems once you’re in there. Especially for the bigger mazes, grab the map just in case.
Bring some cash. While many places are taking cards these days, it’s best to come with some cash just in case, or call beforehand if you’re unsure. Cash may come in handy for smaller purchases like cider donuts, too.
Pets aren’t always allowed, so be sure to know the rules beforehand.
Bring your camera! Corn mazes always create fun memories, so definitely bring your camera inside and snap some photos along the way.
