Vermont is one of the most fun New England states for hunting down the perfect pumpkin in the fall season. It also happens to have some pretty awesome farm stands that are stocked with all the best things to eat and bake with during this especially cozy time of the year. One of my favorite things to do in Vermont in the fall is to just drive around the scenic country roads to look for the best farm stands.
This post rounds up all my favorite Vermont pumpkin patches, as well as awesome farm stands that have not only pumpkins, but also apples, baked treats, mums, gourds, locally made jams and honey, and all kinds of other goodies you’ll be throwing in your shopping basket in no time.
Vermont is absolutely filled with incredible farms that produce amazingly fresh fruits, veggies, and more. So while you’re out picking your pumpkins this fall, be sure to swing by the nearby farm stores, too. I’m very excited for you to dive into this post!

Best Vermont Pumpkin Patches
I’m starting my list with the best Vermont pumpkin patches, which means you can head out into the field and gather up your own pumpkins, or pick your favorite pumpkins from pre-picked hauls. Many of the places mentioned in this part of the list also have a great farm store attached that sells all kinds of fun things, but if you’re hoping to pick your own pumpkins from the ground, or have tons to choose from, these are the places you’ll want to go.
1. Armstrong Farm – Bennington

One of the most picturesque pumpkin patches in southern Vermont is Armstrong Farm in Bennington. This is a small family farm, but what I love about it is pretty obvious – the very fun “Vermont” spelled out in tiny pumpkins across their yard 😍
But even though this pumpkin patch is small, that’s also one of the great things about it. They offer a large variety of pumpkins to choose from, including heirloom varieties, and also have a small farm shop to buy some locally-made products.
Armstrong Farms Overview:
- Overall winner for best place to take a photo.
- Tons of pumpkin varieties to choose from.
- Wagons available to haul your pumpkin around (and use in photos).
- Small farm stand with local products including maple syrup and jams.
- They accept cash or Venmo.
Pro Tip: Armstrong Farm is just down the street from the Apple Barn Country Bake Shop, which is one of my picks for best farm stands in the fall. You’ll definitely want to visit both of these in the same trip.
2. Whitcomb’s Land Of Pumpkins – Williston
Whitcomb’s is a family farm that not only has tons of pumpkins to choose from, but they’re also known for growing giant pumpkins they use to decorate the field. Pulling up to the farm, you’ll be greeted with one of their famous giant pumpkins, and rows of awesome pumpkins available to purchase. There’s also a really fun corn maze on their farm for the perfect fall activity.

- Corn maze.
- Portable toilet available.
- Cash and cards accepted.
3. Kingdom Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch – Sutton
Another amazing destination if you’re looking for a corn maze to round out your perfect fall day is Kingdom Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch. This one is located in the northern part of Vermont, close to Burke, and I would recommend visiting at the end of September to experience peak foliage while there.
As the same suggests, you’ll get both a corn maze and pumpkin patch during your visit, and here’s a recap of everything else you can expect:
Kingdom Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch Overview:

Not only do they have tons of pumpkins to choose from in both their farm field, as well as their main shop area, they also have an on-site bakery with fall treats and cider donuts, a cute little country store, lots and lots of mums, and really festive decorations all over.

In addition to u-pick pumpkins, you’ll find a really nice café, where you can grab fresh, pre-made sandwiches, baked goods, and fair trade coffee, and everything is made with only the best ingredients – many of which are grown right on the farm.
Each year on a Saturday in October, they also do a Pumpkin Festivals, where they’ll have live music, more delicious food offerings, and lots of things to do with kids.
You’ll also want to stop by their greenhouses to pick up some fall mums.
One of the best things about Cedar Circle, though, is their amazing educational efforts. As a non-profit organization, they offer programs for everyone, from children to adults, with a focus on farming methods and agriculture education.

A true gem in the Williston area is Parker Family Farm. Just be careful when you drive by because you may miss it, as the entrance is a residential home. I personally drove by it a few times before I got there!
But don’t let that fool you. The pumpkin patch on their farmland is really scenic, relaxing, and fun. And as an added bonus, they sell their homemade fudge. This is a great place to stop to support a small family farm.

In fact, a member of the Harlow family was even in an actual Hallmark movie – Marry Me In Yosemite!

Vermont Pumpkin Patch & Farm Stand FAQ
When Is The Best Time To Pick Pumpkins In Vermont?
Most pumpkin patches and farm stands have pumpkin available beginning in early to mid September, and have plenty to choose from until about mid-October. After mid-October, they’ll still be pumpkins to pick, but you’ll have fewer options. A great time to go is late September or early October.
Do Vermont Pumpkin Patches Accept Credit Cards?
Most offer payment with a credit card, or have Venmo. However, it’s possible there will be a minimum amount for a credit card transition, or that they will be cash only. I always come prepared with at least $20 in cash, and have found the smaller the business, the less likely it is to accept credit cards.
Best Part Of Vermont For Pumpkin Patches?
In the eastern part of the state along Route 103, you’ll be able to pumpkin patch and farm stand hop, as many on this list are right in that area. You can easily visit Wellwood Orchards, Harlow Farm Stand, and Stone Village on the same day. And nearby all of them, you can swing by the famous Vermont Country Store in Rockingham!
In that area, you’re likely to find a lot of other farm stands not on this list, so keep your eyes peeled for more fun pitstops to make.
Should I Bring My Own Wagon When Visiting Vermont Pumpkin Patches?
Most supply carts or wagons you can use when you visit. If you go on a weekend in October, it’s likely the pumpkin patch will be pretty busy and there may be a short wait for a cart. However, I would definitely suggest leaving your wagons at home unless you want them to take special pictures, or you think you’ll need more than one to carry around your haul (which, honestly can easily happen!).
